Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and settle motor claims, including Personal Lines, Commercial Claims, and AGRI claims.
• Evaluate and make informed decisions on claims settlements with a mandate exceeding R50,000.
• Demonstrate effective time management skills to meet deadlines and ensure efficient claim processing.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in motor claims settlement.
• Experience in a licensed insurer.
• Experience handling claims exceeding R50,000.
• RE 5 certification.
• Higher Certificate in Short Term Insurance.
• FETC In Short-Term Insurance NQF 4.
• Matric certificate (Essential)
• Class of Business - Personal Lines.
• Class of Business - Commercial Lines.

About the Role:

The Senior Claims Technician will play a key role in our Claims team, responsible for efficiently and professionally settling personal and commercial short-term insurance claims. This position requires a confident and experienced individual who can work under binder agreements and uphold our reputation for exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and settle personal and commercial short-term insurance claims
• Operate within the binder agreements and handle claims settlement mandates
• Liaise with insurers, clients, and service providers
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal processes

• Check and sign off on claims

Requirements:

 5 – 10 years of experience in short-term insurance claims (personal & commercial lines)
 Proven ability to manage claims settling mandates as a Solid Binder Broker
 Must have FAIS accreditation and RE certification
 Experience with the Cardinal C360 system is required
 Must reside within a 15km radius of the office - proximity is crucial for this role
 Previous management or supervisory experience will be a strong advantage

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily bookkeeping tasks such as recording invoices, payments, receipts, and journal entries with accuracy and efficiency.
• Maintain precise and detailed general ledger records and conduct reconciliations.
• Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
• Conduct reconciliations of bank accounts, supplier statements, and debtors' accounts.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate completion of financial reports.
• Support the preparation of management reports and financial statements, providing valuable insights and analysis.
• Liaise with auditors and external accountants when necessary to ensure compliance with financial and company policies.

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in bookkeeping or junior accounting role.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks).
• Strong Excel and computer skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy are essential for this role.
• Good organisational and communication skills.

**Role Purpose**

- Provide exceptional service and quotations for clients' personal short-term insurance requirements

- Set and maintain standards for personalised service

**Key Responsibilities**

- Service and provide quotations for existing portfolios

- Assist clients by phone, taking instructions, and confirming them in writing

- Complete voice logging system with client's surname and reason for call

- Attend to written instructions for additions or deletions to existing policies, and confirm in writing

- Capture changes on the system, generate schedules and debit/credit notes, and send to the client with a covering letter

- Maintain a diary of outstanding information/documentation and follow up regularly via telephone, email, fax, or SMS

- Delete warranties and adjust premiums if discounts were given for a tracking device or limited kilometres, and documentation/information is not received after 3 follow-ups

- Advise clients on proper insurance coverage and maintain necessary working notes

- Make notes on EDS files regarding follow-up on diary

- Contact clients who request cancellation to understand the reason and offer alternative options to retain them

- Flag any client-specific issues related to loss of income or poor service levels

- Confirm all advice, telephonic discussions, and client discussions in writing

- Handle Renewals, New Business, Re-insurance, and Credit Control
